PORTION OF NORTH SERVICE ROAD CLOSURE & RAMPS CLOSURE AT HIGHWAYS 1 & 48 AT WHITE CITY
As part of ongoing Regina Bypass construction, earthwork activities will be starting for the new White City overpass. Initially, the work at this location consisted of installing the foundations for the new overpass and traffic management apparatus to protect workers. Both of these activities are now nearly complete.
The next phase of construction will see earthworks commence on both the north and south sides of Trans-Canada Highway 1 near White City.
Temporary North Service Road Closure
In order to facilitate this construction, Regina Bypass Design Builders (RBDB) will be temporarily closing the North Service Road between Frank Lake Road and Highway 48 on the north side of Highway 1. During this temporary closure, traffic will be accommodated with the opening of a new right in, right out access at the north side of Emerald Park. (Please see the attached Map 1 for details.) This closure is targeted to begin as early as Tuesday, May 10 and remain until late summer 2016.
As well, motorists are reminded about another closure targeted to also begin Tuesday, May 10 when the Highway 1 eastbound off-ramp and the Highway 1 eastbound on-ramp at Highway 48 will be closed. Traffic will be accommodated at the existing junction of Highways 1 and 48. (Please see the attached map 2 for details.) These ramp closures are expected to remain until late 2017.
Once open to traffic, the new overpass will provide safe access for motorists to Highway 1 and White City. As well, this work will improve the service road network between Regina and Balgonie.
