About Pilot Butte

About Pilot ButteWelcome to Pilot Butte. We are a town of approximately 2000 residents, a community on the move to the future. Pilot Butte, just 8 miles East of Regina, with its quiet country ambience, many rec programs, excellent school and with its proximity to big city amenities, is a great place to raise a family.

We offer many recreational facilities, such as a community rink, a community hall, four outstanding ball diamonds - one of which has lights for night games. We also have an annual Rodeo which is held on Father's Day weekend of every year. The Butte itself is a centre for winter fun, offering great tobogganing opportunities for families to enjoy.

Pilot Butte boasts a busy library, a senior care home, an insurance office, two convenience stores, several restaurants and take-out, two local Churches, a number of day-care providers, a preschool, three manufacturing plants, and a riding club. Many more services are listed in our business directory on the website or the community phone book which is available at the town office, at the insurance office and at the library.

We can be proud of the fact that two Olympic athletes have called Pilot Butte home. Clayton Gerein earned many Paralympic gold, silver and bronze medals for wheelchair racing and was active in making opportunities for other challenged athletes. Reuben Ross, who was raised here, has competed in the Olympics in Beijing and in London as a diving competitor where he acquitted himself well.  Both athletes competed in competitions other than the Olympics earning medals and putting Pilot Butte out in the world.
