Gopher Control on Monday July 22, 2024
The Town is aware of a higher number of gophers this year. Poulin’s Pest Control will be in Town on Monday July 22nd for gopher control throughout the Town. Please check the Town’s social media/website for updates.
The Town’s gopher control program was done in April, as Spring is the best time for application as the gophers emerge from their burrows in search of food. The Town uses Rozol RTU, which is approved for use by Health Canada. Crews put small amounts of Rozol RTU deep down in gopher holes where it is consumed by the gopher. The application is limited to ‘buffer zones’ or rough turf areas throughout the town along storm channels, and roadway and railway buffers.
