TOWN OF PILOT BUTTE
Notice of Intent to adopt the Bylaw No. 01-2023 known as the “Town of Pilot Butte Official Community Plan” and Bylaw No. 02-2023 known as the “Town of Pilot Butte Zoning Bylaw”.
NOTICE:
The Council of the Town of Pilot Butte hereby gives notice of its intention to adopt an Official Community Plan and Zoning Bylaw pursuant to The Planning and Development Act, 2007.
REASON:
The Official Community Plan (OCP) will help direct and manage growth and development in the Town of Pilot Butte for 15-20 years. This document defines, directs, evaluates, and guides the Council in making development and land-use decisions. The objectives and policies address the future requirements and directions for growth of residential, commercial, industrial, recreational, and municipal land-uses.
The Zoning Bylaw is a regulatory document that implements the policies contained in the OCP. This document will
divide the Town of Pilot Butte into thirteen (13) zoning districts based on existing and intended future land-uses. The Zoning Bylaw contains regulations and standards including the size, setbacks, and location of lots and buildings, off-street parking, vehicle storage, fencing and landscaping, etc. Each district will contain its own list of permitted uses and discretionary uses, along with general regulations that apply to development in all districts.
AFFECTED LAND:
The proposed OCP and Zoning Bylaw encompass all properties within the Municipality of the Town of Pilot Butte.
PUBLIC INSPECTION:
The document and maps of the OCP and Zoning Bylaw may be viewed at the Town of Pilot Butte located at 222 Diamond Place Pilot Butte SK S0G 3Z0. These documents may be examined by any person without payment of any fee on Monday through Thursday between the hours of 9:00 am – 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm, and on Friday between 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, excluding holidays, up to April 20, 2023 (date of public hearing).
Bylaw documents are available online at https://pilotbutte.ca/ and hard copies may be obtained from the Town Office at a cost of $25.00. Any questions about these documents can be directed to the Chief Administrative Officer at cao@pilotbutte.ca or contact 306-781-3409.
REPRESENTATIONS:
The Municipality is open in accepting any written representations from the public that states their concerns or comments regarding the proposed Bylaw No. 01-2023 and Bylaw No. 02-2023. Written representations or any other forms with your full name and civic address shall be submitted no later than April 13, 2023 to the Town Office or email to cao@pilotbutte.ca.
PUBLIC HEARING:
The Council will hear all submissions respecting the proposed OCP and Zoning Bylaw on:
April 20, 2023 that is at least 28 days from newspaper publication at 7:00 pm in Council Chambers
Council will hear all persons who are present at the meeting and wish to speak on this matter. They will also consider
written comments received at the hearing or delivered to the undersigned before the hearing.
