Welcome to the Town of Pilot Butte’s Recreation Page. The Town of Pilot Butte has a vast variety of recreational activities, programs and organizations to choose from.
The Town of Pilot Butte’s Recreation Centre acts as grand central station for the community and is home to an ice skating surface, community hall with kitchen, library, senior centre, four softball diamonds, soccer pitch, playground and town offices. There are also various parks and play spaces throughout the town as well as the infamous Butte Hill.
The arena was built in the 1970s and hosts many winter activities such as minor hockey, ringette, recreational hockey, figure skating as well as the Jr. B Storm Hockey Club part of the Prairie Junior Hockey League. In the summer the Recreation Centre is home to many events including lacrosse, inline hockey and summer camps. During the summer the arena makes a great place for weddings and other social functions and is a great addition to our community hall space. The community hall as a seating capacity of 150 and is a great space for all kinds of social events.
Pilot Butte has four regulation softball diamonds, one of which has lights making it available for night games. The Town of Pilot Butte runs a recreational Slo-Pitch league in the summer. Our diamonds have hosted many tournaments over the years including the Canadian Senior Men’s Westerns.
The Golden Sunset Club is the seniors’ facility located within the Recreation Centre complex. The Golden Sunset Club hosts card days and social activities such as Soup & Sandwich day for the seniors in our community. To join the club there is a small membership fee.
The rodeo grounds are located just north of Highway 46 and host to Pilot Butte’s Annual Rodeo. It is also home to the Pilot Butte Gymkhana and Riding Club. The grounds offer bleachers and a newly built concession stand.
