Every June, communities across Canada celebrate Parks & Recreation Month to highlight the important role that parks and recreation play in boosting well-being, bringing people together, and adding a little extra joy (and play!) to everyday life for individuals and communities. The Town of Pilot Butte has numerous parks through out Town to enjoy with scenic views, walking paths & playgrounds.  Parks & Recreation Month Activities - New Park Names

To kick off Parks & Recreation Month, the Town is excited to announce that Pilot Butte’s parks have officially been named!

This milestone was made possible with the help of our community through the Name the Parks survey, along with the review and recommendations from the Parks, Recreation, Arts & Culture Committee (PRAC) and approval from Town Council.

Resident feedback played an important role in shaping the process, with many community members expressing support for names that reflect Pilot Butte’s history and natural surroundings. Several community suggestions were incorporated into the final selections.

To further recognize and celebrate Pilot Butte’s history and heritage — including founding families and individuals who have helped shape our community — an additional phase of this project will follow.

Stay tuned for more as we continue to honour the history, stories and people that make Pilot Butte special!

Visit the Parks and Playgrounds page to learn more about the parks and meaning behind the names.
