Spring & Fall Clean-Up Bins
In the Spring and Fall seasons, the Town has large garbage and compost bins for seasonal clean-up. The Spring bins are typically available for 2-3 weeks in May and the Fall bins are typically available for 2-3 weeks over September/October (dates and timeframes are subject to change). These are available at the Maintenance Shop on Railway Avenue during designated hours.

May 21, 2025 Notice
Due to misuse, the Spring Clean Up Bins have been cancelled and removed immediately, as of May 21, 2025.
This decision was not made lightly, and supported by Council and Administration. The safety of our Public Works staff, cleanliness of our Town and financial impact due to additional charges ultimately led to this decision. Unfortunately, on multiple dates our Public Works department had found an overflow of items, which results in the bins not being collected and items needing to be removed, items deposited into incorrect bins and items that are not accepted by Loraas deposited. Our Public Works department had made efforts to minimize the additional charges and ensure the bins could be collected by removing/relocating items, but this not only poses a safety hazard to them if they need to be in the bin or manually removing overfill, it also pulls them away from other work, resulting in delays to the community and residents.
May 15, 2025 Notice
Our Public Works department has recently observed items deposited in the incorrect clean up bins, including items that are NOT acceptable for any of the bins. When this happens the Town incurs additional charges, which ultimately is taxpayers money. Unexpected additional charges affect the affordability of this beneficial community program. Our Public Works department has made efforts to minimize these charges by removing/relocating items, but this not only poses a safety hazard to them if they need to be in the bin or manually removing overfill, it also pulls them away from other work, resulting in delays to the community and residents.
If misuse continues the Town will not continue to offer the clean up bins.
We want to be able to continue to offer this program and need our residents’ cooperation and understanding on acceptable and unacceptable use.
1️⃣ Please ensure you are depositing items in the correct bin – each bin has signage indicating Garbage, Compost or Metal.
2️⃣ Please make note of what items are acceptable and unaccepted – these signs are also attached to each bin.
3️⃣ If your items are unaccepted in any of the bins, please plan to dispose of them in a different appropriate disposal location, ie: City of Regina Landfill, Sarcan for paints, plastics, foam packaging, electronics, batteries, etc.
Thank you to our residents for understanding, respecting the program and keeping the area tidy!
