The Town of Pilot Butte is looking for community members to be part of a team in shaping our development strategies over the next 25 years. The strategies are part of the Official Community Plan and will set the goals and objectives to support the future development. The Council in consultation with Bob Linner, MCIP, RPP and JC Graphic and Technical Services worked on reviewing and updating the current Official Community Plan (OCP). After the Open House in 2013, the Council took the comments from the public for potential inclusion in the updated OCP.
The purpose of an OCP is to provide a comprehensive policy framework to guide the physical, environmental, economic, social and cultural development of the municipality or any part of the municipality. A community plan is a growth management strategy for a municipality. An OCP enables a municipality to set development goals, objectives and policies which council can use to manage land use, subdivision, municipal services, and public utilities in the municipality.
An Open House/Public Meeting was first held June 25, 2013 with a follow up done July 28, 2014. The OCP was approved September 8, 2014. The OCP is available for viewing on the website or if you would like a printed copy, please call the Town Office at 306-781-4547 Option 1 or drop by the Town Office and the staff would be happy to make a copy for you at no charge.
