Snowshoe Borrowing Program

The Town is excited to offer snowshoe lending to our community! With beautiful landscape and countryside near by, such as the White Butte Trails, this is a great way to get outside, explore and enjoy the outdoors!

Snowshoe equipment rental information
  • Snowshoes can be borrowed on a daily or weekend basis.
  • There is no charge to borrow snowshoe equipment, but credit card authorization must be provided for the borrowed equipment.
  • Snowshoe sizes and quantities available are:
    • Small – Up to 68 Kg (150 lb) – 2 sets available
    • Medium – Up to 90 Kg (200 lb) – 2 sets available
    • Large – Up to 113 Kg (250 lb) – 2 sets available
How to rent:
  • Snowshoe equipment must be pre-booked. Please contact the Recreation Program Coordinator at 306-781-6253 or Director of Recreation 306-781-3402, visit the Recreation Office or complete the form below to submit a request. Our Recreation Department will reach out to confirm availability and provide a Snowshoe Borrowing Agreement for you to complete the booking.

Terms & Conditions of Snowshoe Equipment Borrowing

  1. Snowshoes will be picked up and dropped off at the Municipal Recreation Office located at 222 Diamond Place. Borrowed equipment may be picked up by users and transported to other locations within the Town of Pilot Butte or White Butte Trails. We do not deliver or pick up equipment.
  2. Snowshoes will be available to the public between 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. All equipment must be returned to the Municipal Recreation Office by 5:00 pm latest. Snowshoes will be available to be borrowed for one-day only Monday – Friday and will be borrowed on a full weekend basis Saturday – Sunday.
    1. Monday to Friday. Equipment is available on a first-come, first-serve basis for daily use.
    2. Saturday & Sunday. Equipment is provided for the full weekend but MUST be signed out during regular business hours on the Friday prior to and returned at earliest convenience the following Monday.
  1. Snowshoes will be returned in the same condition in which they were received. Borrower is responsible for any and all damage incurred beyond normal wear and tear. Borrower must provide valid credit card in order to book snowshoes. In the event a snowshoe is damaged, lost or stolen, the credit card will be charged for a replacement set of the same or most similar snowshoe.
  1. Knowledge of proper care and use of this equipment is required before the snowshoes are used. Please read the snowshoe care and use information sheet. We reserve the right to refuse rental if we feel that you are not prepared to use the equipment safety.
  1. Borrower acknowledges that snowshoeing is an activity with inherent risks of injury to persons and property; borrower is aware of those risks of injury to persons and property; borrower is aware of those risks and understands them. Borrower releases the Town of Pilot Butte from any and all liability or obligation that may occur during use of the Town of Pilot Butte’s snowshoes and poles.
