Advocate for a second elementary school in Pilot Butte
As a rapidly growing community with many young families, we must ensure our children have safe schools and adequate space to learn and thrive.
Pilot Butte has a wonderful elementary school, but it is bursting at the seams and has already undergone multiple expansions to accommodate our growing community. With potential of 70+ new homes occupied in 2026, this could mean 100 or more additional students in the coming years.
In January 2025, Pilot Butte was one of the three municipalities on the PVSD major capital project priorities to be considered by the Saskatchewan Party government. However, in the January 22, 2026 PVSD News Release, Pilot Butte is no longer listed among the three major capital projects — despite being on the list for the past several years.
The Town of Pilot Butte is extremely disappointed in the recent decision by Prairie Valley School Division to no longer support the urgent need for a second elementary school in our community.
Our community has spoken up before — and our voices made a difference. Now it’s time to come together again.
We encourage residents to contact Prairie Valley School Division board members, MLA Brad Crassweller, and Premier Scott Moe to advocate for a second elementary school for Pilot Butte.
View the documents below which include additional information, a letter from Mayor Peggy Chorney and Town Council and contact information for PVSD and officials to voice your concerns and advocate for our community.
Together, let’s stand up for our children and their future. 📚🏫
