Every 5 years, the Census of Population counts every household and person in Canada. This important information helps plan for the services that support our families, neighbourhoods, and businesses.
Census data is used by local and provincial governments, community organizations, and businesses to make informed decisions about things like:
• Schools and daycares
• Emergency services (fire, police, and medical)
• Roads and public transit
• Health care, education, and employment services
When you complete the 2026 Census, you’re helping shape the future of our community. Pilot Butte receives federal and provincial funding using formulas based on population counts and demographics. When residents complete the census Pilot Butte's true population is recorded and we receive our fair share of the funding.
