Public Hearing: Discretionary Use Application - 17 Vancouver Crescent

Pursuant to Section 55 of The Planning and Development Act, 2007, the Council of the Town of Pilot Butte gives notice to review a Discretionary Use Application, and the details are as follows:

PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT:
A Legal Secondary Suite in an existing Single-Detached Dwelling, to be operated as a Bed and Breakfast Homestay (Airbnb). Civic Address: 17 Vancouver Crescent in Discovery Ridge, Pilot Butte Legal Address: Lot 38, Block 7, Plan 102449336 Ext. 0. The affected land is shown within the red outline in the attached figure.

INTENTIONS:
To develop the basement of an existing dwelling as a Legal Secondary Suite and operate it as a Bed and Breakfast Homestay (Airbnb) to provide temporary accommodation for visitors to the community. A maximum of two guests will be accommodated at any one time. The property owners will continue to reside in the principal dwelling (Upstairs), while guests will occupy the Legal Suite in the basement.

PUBLIC INSPECTION:
Any person may inspect the proposed Discretionary Use Application at the Town Office, located at 222 Diamond Place, Town of Pilot Butte, during regular office hours: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays. Copies of the proposed Discretionary Use Application are available for inspection at the Town Office.

PUBLIC HEARING:
Council will hold a public hearing on August 10, 2026, at 7:00 PM, in the Town’s Council Chambers to hear any person or group that wants to comment on the proposed Discretionary Use Application. Council will also consider written comments received at the Public Hearing or delivered to the undersigned at the Town Office before the hearing. All written submission should be forwarded with your full name and address to the Town Office or email to planner@pilotbutte.ca no later than August 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM.
