5th Avenue Road Construction Schedule

The 5th Avenue Road Construction Schedule is available as of August 5, 2026. The information below outlines the anticipated construction timeline and what residents can expect during each section of the project.

Section 1 – Water Treatment Plant to Savanna Crescent Entrance

Construction Start: August 6, 2026
Estimated Completion: Late August 2026 (approximately 2–3 weeks, weather permitting)

Construction will begin on the section of 5th Avenue between the Water Treatment Plant and the entrance to Savanna Crescent. During this phase, the road will be closed; however, access to Savanna Crescent will be maintained for residents.

Work in this section includes:

  • Installation of curb from the Water Treatment Plant to the entrance of Savanna Crescent.
  • Repaving of 5th Avenue from the Water Treatment Plant to the Savanna Crescent entrance.

Section 2 – Savanna Crescent Entrance to Domo

Estimated Construction Start: Late August 2026 (following completion of Section 1)
Estimated Completion: Mid-September 2026 (approximately 2–3 weeks, weather permitting)

Construction will continue from the Savanna Crescent entrance to just before Domo, completing the paving of 5th Avenue.

Work in this section includes:

  • Repaving of 5th Avenue from the Savanna Crescent entrance to just before Domo.
  • Installation of curb from Savanna Crescent to the existing curb at the west end of the homes on 5th Avenue.

The contractor will make every effort to maintain access to affected properties on 5th Avenue whenever possible. However, there will be periods when the road will be completely closed, and residents will be required to use alternate parking and property access.

Residents are asked to use Chateau Crescent for temporary parking. Residents with campers or recreational vehicles are requested to park them on the roads north of Chateau Crescent to help preserve parking spaces on Chateau Crescent for residents' regularly used vehicles. It is recommended that campers and recreational vehicles be moved to these designated parking areas before Section 2 begins to ensure they can be accessed and moved easily throughout the construction period.

Please note: Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.

Loraas Collection & School Bus Routes

The Town will work with Loraas and the applicable school bus providers to coordinate waste collection and school bus routes throughout the construction period.

Residents will be notified of any temporary changes to garbage collection, bus stops, pickup locations, or other alternate arrangements as they become necessary. Additional information will be provided in advance whenever possible.
