Landscaping Deposit
The weather is getting warmer & grass is greening, let’s talk landscaping! 🌱🌳
When a new home is built, a building deposit is collected as part of the permit process. This deposit has two parts:
• One portion is returned once certain construction requirements are met
• The second is a landscaping deposit, returned to the homeowner once front and back yard landscaping is complete
To qualify for the landscaping rebate, homeowners must:
🗸 Complete landscaping within 3 years of the original permit submission date
🗸 Maintain original lot grading so neighbouring properties are not impacted
🗸 Ensure the yard is properly finished with grass or other landscaping materials to prevent weeds and soil erosion
🗸 Contact the Town’s Building Permit Officer for inspection once complete (photos are appreciated!) by emailing permits@pilotbutte.ca
Once the inspection is approved, the $1,000 rebate will be issued by cheque following the next Council meeting.

🚫 Reminder: Whether you’re landscaping yourself or hiring a contractor, please ensure landscaping materials is placed on your own property, NOT on the road.
