Improper Use of Town Garbage Bins
The Town was made aware of tires being left beside one of the town garbage bins on August 5th. Please remember that tires are not an accepted item in garbage bins.
Improper disposal, including leaving items beside the bins or placing unaccepted materials inside them, result in additional disposal fees for the Town — costs that could otherwise be avoided.
A garbage bin and recycling bin are located in the front parking lot of the Recreation Centre for resident use. Please ensure all garbage and recyclable materials are placed in the appropriate bin and that nothing is left beside the bins. These garbage bins follow the same acceptable and unaccepted item guidelines as the Town’s Spring and Fall Cleanup bins.
To help keep our community clean and avoid unnecessary costs, please keep the following guidelines in mind:
🗑️ ALL garbage must:
• Fit inside the garbage bin
• Be placed inside the bin — items cannot be left beside or around the bin
❌ UNACCEPTED ITEMS:
• Tires
• Batteries
• Electronics
• Paint
• Pesticides
• Pharmaceuticals
• Light bulbs
• Rocks, dirt or soil
• Construction materials/waste
• Aerosols, adhesives, fuel, propane cylinders, etc.
• Refrigerators or metal items with a larger percentage of plastic or wood attached
✅ ACCEPTED ITEMS:
• Household garbage
• Furniture
If your items are unaccepted in any of the bins, please plan to dispose of them in a different appropriate disposal location, ie: City of Regina Landfill, Sarcan for paints, plastics, foam packaging, electronics, batteries, etc.
Thank you for helping us keep our garbage bin areas clean and ensuring items are disposed of properly.
