5th Avenue Road Construction Project
The 5th Avenue Road Construction Project is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
The first few days of the project will consist of mobilization, including bringing equipment, materials, and crews to the work site.
Project Schedule
Construction will be completed in two sections:
Section 1:
• Installation of curb from the Water Treatment Plant to the entrance of Savanna Crescent.
• Repaving of 5th Avenue from the west of the Water Treatment Plant to the Savanna Crescent entrance.
Section 2:
• Repaving of 5th Avenue from the Savanna Crescent entrance to just before Domo, completing the paving of 5th Avenue.
• Installation of curb from Savanna Crescent to the existing curb at the west end of the homes on 5th Avenue.
Access Information
• Savanna Crescent will remain accessible throughout construction.
• The work area and road closures will begin and end at the midpoint of the Savanna Crescent entrance to allow vehicles to continue accessing the neighbourhood.
• The construction sections of 5th Avenue will be closed as needed during each section of the project. Please plan alternate routes during this construction period and follow all posted signage.
Parking Information for Residents
• During Section 2 of construction, residents on 5th Avenue will not have access to park in front of their properties.
• Residents are asked to use Chateau Crescent for temporary parking.
• 5th Avenue residents with campers or recreational vehicles are requested to park them on the roads north of Chateau Crescent to help preserve parking spaces on Chateau Crescent for residents' regularly used vehicles.
